Biography – Laura S. Lauri
Dr. Laura S. Lauri graduated from the Department of Geology, University of Helsinki, Finland, in 1999 with a M.Sc. degree and in 2004 with a Ph.D. in Geology. She has over 15 years of experience working in mining industry, currently holding a position of Senior Scientist at the Geological Survey of Finland GTK Rovaniemi office. Her background is in igneous petrology and crustal evolution, but during her career she has worked with a wide range of geological issues. Her current projects concentrate on critical raw materials, social acceptance of mining industry, raw materials policy and regional cluster development in close collaboration with the Regional Council of Lapland. Dr. Lauri is the coordinator of the “Mining and Metallurgy Regions of EU (MIREU)” Horizon2020 Project.
