Jonas Ranggård will present Boliden’s latest Electrification project
Electrification is identified by Boliden as one of the keys to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from mining and the enabler to move away from diesel towards renewable energy sources.
The project will develop technology for electric transport routes and aims to solve challenges with arctic climate and large vehicles. The demonstration and pilot route will be in operation in fall 2018 in Aitik, Sweden’s largest open pit copper mine.
Boliden is initiating and developing the technology together with strategic partners such as Eitech, ABB, Pon Equipment, Catepillar and Chalmers University, supported by the Swedish Energy Agency.
