Håkan Tarras-Wahlberg
Håkan Tarras-Wahlberg holds a BSc (Hons) in Geology (Cape Town), MPhil and PhD degrees in Geography (CANTAB). He has had long experience of working as an expert, consultant and researcher in the mining and natural resource sectors. His interests and expertise include environmental and social issues in the mining sector, and associated policies. Over the years he has led and/or contributed to numerous projects funded by multi- and bilateral agencies, as well as by private sector organizations. His work has taken him to a wide range of countries and environments in Asia, Europe, Latin America, Melanesia and Africa.
Håkan is also academically active, presently at the University of Dundee and before that at the Stockholm School of Economics. He has been on the board of Georange since 2008 and he was elected Chairman in 2020.
